I want to be just like Daddy when I grow up!

Nathan loves Jake's ties. This picture reminds me of the Primary songs that go "I want to be a missionary now," and "I hope they call me on a mission, when I have grown a foot or two."

Let's keep this under the table . . .

Favorite new place to play, who'd've thought?

On a roll!

Nathan has discovered the joys of toilet paper.

First Haircut

Mom & Dad decided it was finally time for Nathan to lose his baby mullet, so he got his first haircut while we were on vacation in Utah. He came through like a champ!

Christmas Morning

Nathan opened presents on Christmas morning at Grandma Patty's, then Grandma Elaine's, then in Nashville at our house on New Year's Day. Good thing Santa always knows where to find us!

Cake!!!!

Nathan had two birthday parties, and finally got into the idea of cake at the second one. Practice makes perfect!

Happy Birthday, Nathan!

Nathan wasn't too excited for his first birthday, but his mom & dad sure were.

Welcome Home, Uncle Ryan!

Mommy & I made a special trip out to Omaha to surprise Uncle Ryan when he came home from Iraq. I have a special bond with my Uncle Ryan.

Red Caboose Park

Nathan's first ride on the swing was so fun!

I voted!

Go McCain! Yeah right, but we can hope!

Nathan's First BYU Game

While we were in Dallas, we went to the BYU-TCU game. The Cougars got trampled, but Nate and Dad enjoyed some male-bonding once Nate got over the scary cheers from the crowd!

How many words a minute can you type?

Nate loves technology!

Bath Time

Nathan loves his bath. Lately he likes to turn the wrong way in the tub. I love this face!

I'm Prepared!

We dug out our flashlight for just in case we were hit by Tropical Storm Edouard in Houston. Nathan is familiarizing himself with its operation in this shot.

Cousins!

Hunter and Garrett are great cousins to Nate.

Cool in the Pool

Nate took to the water just like the little fishie he is!

Breakfast with the Barneys

Nathan had a blast at breakfast with Kristie, Grandma Elaine, Uncle Steve, Aunt Brenda & Uncle Doug.

Getting to Know Grandpa's Nose

Nathan loved pulling Grandpa Rob's nose, probably because Grandpa honked every time he did!

Grandma the Tickling Machine

Grandma Patty got Nathan's first good laugh when he visited in April, and still gets him giggling today!

At the Parade

We didn't watch much of the parade, but we enjoyed spending time with our family! (l-r, Kale, Lindsey, Matt, Nicole, Nate)

Batter up!

Nathan looks like he's considering bunting . . . if he doesn't eat the bat first!

Nate & Mom

What a great view of the fireworks in downtown Dallas!

Nate meets Uncle Sam

What a brave little boy and a crazy set of parents!

Nathan at the Zoo

We went to the Dallas Zoo last month when Cammen and Patrick came to visit us. Nathan had a great time seeing all the cool animals and sitting on them, too.

About Me

Nicole Barney: This is a blog of the adventures of the Barney family. Jake took a job as an attorney here in Dallas, and Nathan & I spend our days exploring our new city, reading & playing together, and basically just watching him grow up too fast!
